Olive takes any white glazed china or porcelain plates, mugs, bowls or tiles, indeed any household china and applies special on-glaze paint (mixed with medium.)   The item is then fired in the kiln.  Depending on the design, up to four separate applications of paint and firings may be needed   After firing, the paint is permanent.
