John Llewellyn - Woodturner

John Llewellyn is a retired Dairy Farmer who left the industry following the introduction of the milk quotas.    While he and his wife Sue were waiting for theh planning permission to create self-catering holiday units,  he took up wood turning as a hobby, having, like most people tried a couple of pieces while at school.

This has developed from a small lathe driven by a Black and Decker drill to a workshop with three lathes catering for larger objects, a Band Saw for cutting his own blanks and because of the use of more exotic timbers, he now needs full dust extraction facilities.

Although full use is made of local hardwoods, may exotic times from the far corners of the world are purchased from specialist suppliers.

Clocks, barometers, bowls, pot pourri pots, light pulls, coasters, cheese boards, candle lamps and nut crackers are all produced as unique items.   Commisions are undertaken and John is prepared to give lessons in this most fascinating of crafts.
